Partnerships & Initiatives
Drugaid believe that working together in partnership can provide a rounded and integrated service, which meets the many needs of our service users, in a seamless and coordinated manner.
Effective treatment systems cannot work without partnership and joint working agreements.

Initiatives
Drugaid supports innovative service provision. We actively seek out good practice. We have undertaken a number of initiatives within the organisation recently including:
- Drop-in services
- Peer mentoring
- Service user involvement
- Engagement and retention initiative
- Volunteering coordinator
- Workforce and staff development programme
- Performance management system review
- Website and promotional material review and development with service users
We believe that services need to continuously improve and respond to the needs of service users.
We also look externally for opportunities to expand our service both in breadth and depth. We are excited about a number of initiatives in 2009. These include:
- Strengthening Families Programme in Caerphilly and Merthyr Tydfil
- Community Prescribing Service in Merthyr Tydfil (Substance Misuse Support Programme)
- GP Shared Care Service in Rhondda Cynon Taff (DART)
- Drop-in services in Caerphilly and Rhondda Cynon Taff
These we do in partnership with a range of organisations and individuals and very importantly, service users.
In addition to these initiatives we run campaigns in Gwent to engage with hard-to-reach groups as part of our GOALS service. Our campaigns focus on harm reduction and have included:
- Hepatitis C
- Overdose prevention
Our new campaign will be on stimulant use.
